In December of 2011, Robert A. Gilman, who was living in
Louisburg, North Carolina at the time, sent us an e-mail telling us that he had viewed the veterans website and saw that his name was not on it.
Robert Gilman told us that he attended Hackensack High School from 1960 to 1962, the year he graduated.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967.
Robert Gilman wrote that he was with the 36th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron and also served with the 354th TAC Fighter Squadron.
Robert Gilman rose to the rank of Sergeant and received the Good Conduct Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the
Vietnam Service Medal.
Let us never forget the servicemens' sacrifice.
